Hello there! This week, my lovely friends over at New Look Men have set me a challenge: to create my dream outfit for spring using five items from their B-E-A-YOO-TIFUL range! Well, New Look Men, challenge firmly accepted. I’ve put together a look which I think encapsulates this season perfectly – incorporating all the biggest trends I’ve noticed on both the catwalks and the sidewalks. Street-style was definitely a big influence on this outfit and, indeed, a huge influence on my day-to-day style too! I truly believe that the best place to seek inspiration is the streets – especially in big cities where the fashion-savvy seem to descend.

 

For this look, I’ve gone for lots of contrasts – which, on paper, definitely shouldn’t work, but, in reality, definitely do – and layers. Layering is perhaps the most essential of these trends, simply because the weather here in Blighty is quite so unpredictable. We can go from a lovely soporific sunshine in the morning to bitter winds in the afternoon, so having layers you can add or remove easily is always handy. Cropped trousers or rolled-up jeans are a definite go-to for me this season as well, and, teamed with a fresh pair of white trainers, they’re the perfect way to transition from winter to spring. A recent revelation of mine has been these secret pop-socks you can wear with trainers to prevent blisters. ABSOLUTE GAME CHANGER.

 

I’ve teamed this with a staple graphic t-shirt (NEVER goes out of style) and a really cool checked shirt (likewise). If you get too hot, just remove the shirt and tie it ‘round your waist – simples! To complete the look, I’ve opted for a cream roll-neck to add an extra dimension and bring everything together, as well as a cheesy grin. Have a browse below and let me know what you think!
